Aare Rhine....

On the outset of winter, we decided to visit Aare Gorge. The river Aar passes through a deep narrow valley with steep sides cutting through a hard rock. Over thousands of years, the Aare River eroded a path through this rock formation resulting in a gorge which is 1’400 metres long and up to 200 metres deep. The stroll on 1.4 KM long log way is fabulous. It not only provides the stunning views but also gives you a chance to be so closure to nature. The walk takes around an hour to complete providing you many picturesque spot to capture the moments.

It takes around 2 hours from Zurich to reach aare gorge via meiringen.

Queen of Mountains - Mt Rigi

The next in our list was Mt Rigi (Aug 17th 2014) known as "Queen of Mountains". I do not have any doubt in mind why is it called "queen". The mountain is in center surrounded by lakes and beautiful alps. It is one of the most scenic mountain in central Switzerland and a romantic one too. There are various routes to reach Mt Rigi from various points. While Arth Goldau and Vitznau offers a cogwheel train journey to the top, Weggis offers a cable car. The every nook and corner will give you a breathtaking views and leave you amazed. The lush green landscape and alps clad in snow turns it into a picture perfect spot. If you love photography and nature, you would not want to miss this place while you are in Switzerland. Our trip to Rigi was just fabulous. Here are some pictures taken from my note 3.
